Tech Talk with Shlomi Aber

Header

Tech Talk sheds light on the ever-evolving technological side of DJing and producing. Early adopters, look here as our artists show off their latest gadgets and obsessions. Everyone else - just try to keep up! This month, Shlomi Aber invites the Bullittin behind the curtain.

What piece of technology do you find yourself using most during tours, and why? (This could be any piece of technology: cell phone, e-reader, wireless charger, etc)

Indeed it is my laptop, from checking emails or watching movies during flights and connections at airports, to using it with my Traktor during gigs.

What is your current studio set up?

I’m using all analog hardware equipment, both for synths and effects. There are too many to mention, but my favorites are still the classic Kurzweil and Moog stuff.

What is your favorite website to visit when surfing the Internet and why?

Actually, it’s walla.com. It’s an Israeli website/portal where I can be updated with everything going on, from daily issues to sports while I’m touring. I like to stay updated with regards to my little country and home base.

What is your favorite piece of gear, and what type of sound does it bring to your productions?

I think it’s my old vintage Telefunken pre amp; it makes everything that goes through it sound better and bigger. It’s an old classic 70s/80s tube pre amp that I just can’t live without.
